Fighting to end global health crises through iconic fundraising partnerships
Established in 2006 with the aim of raising funds to end AIDS, (RED) is known for iconic fundraising campaigns and partnerships. All proceeds from these efforts go to the Global Fund. This flexible new site will help (RED) continue fighting the good fight against widespread global pandemics.
The Ask
Having outgrown their Squarespace site, the team at (RED) desired a fresh, accessible, and bold new platform. They sought more flexibility and were keen to explore custom WordPress development. Other goals included responsive and accessible front-end development and an impactful, functional design. Meeting a short timeline to launch before World AIDS Day was also crucial to this project.
The Solution
To address all goals and ensure flexibility, we developed the site on WordPress Gutenberg with additional custom features and modules. Column & Row offered strategic SEO guidance, and fellow B Corp Radish Labs provided UX/UI expertise. Each part of this collaborative effort complements adds to the site’s impact, visibility, and functionality.
One of the key features is a mega nav that allows the client to spotlight multiple pages and links effortlessly. Our team took extra care during development to ensure the navigation would be accessible, particularly on mobile devices. A roll-up animation and a custom block depicting key information and images about (RED)’s areas of impact further enhance the site.
The new website is easier to navigate with more accessible information. The overall result is an improved user experience that supports (RED)’s mission and shares their work in an energized way.
